Support B.A.C.U.
B.A.C.U. – the Bureau for Art and Urban Research – is a non-profit association of architects, researchers and photographers from Romania and the Republic of Moldova. Since 2014 we have documented the modernist architecture and monumental art of the former Eastern Bloc and worked to keep it standing, through projects such as Socialist Modernism, SocHeritage, Socialist Monumental Art, Socialist Realism and Defense Architecture.
Your donation helps us:
- document and photograph buildings before they are demolished or altered beyond recognition;
- prepare heritage listing files, such as the one that led to the Telephone Palace in Cluj-Napoca being listed as a historical monument;
- run public campaigns for threatened buildings, such as Hotel Cosmos and Hotel National in Chișinău;
- keep our maps, archives and research free and open to everyone.
Every contribution, however small, makes a difference.
Donations go to B.A.C.U. via PayPal (office@bacu.ro). You can pay with a PayPal account or a bank card.
